Our goal is not to become just another tracker. The goal is to provide absolutely the best torrents and community. Therefore, only specially authorised users have permission to upload torrents. If you have access to 0-day stuff do not hesitate to CONTACT us!
This is a private tracker, and you have to register before you can get full access to the site. Before you do anything here at RandomBytes we suggest you read the FAQ!

  • Respect the Uploaders and do not bother leaving comments for torrents you will not download.
  • Never defy the expressed wishes of the The Ferrets Lair staff.
  • No "Hit & Runs". See the FAQ if you don’t know what hit and run means.
  • If you have been warned by a Moderator, there is probably no chance that an Administrator or Sys-op is going to rule against their decision. If you feel you have been harshly treated, contact the Moderator that warned you first. Only contact the Administrators or Sys-ops when it is your only remaining option.
  • Only 1 account per IP, dupe accounts will be disabled and the first account will be warned. If you require having a 2nd account, send a private message to a member of the staff describing your condition.
  • Be careful who you choose to invite. You may be held responsible if the person you invite abuses their account.
  • No ratio cheating. Suspicious ratios are immediately reported to staff.
  • Do not request to lock, move or delete topics in public forums. If you need to report abuse, contact a staff member privately.
  • Only POWER USERS or higher ranks may make requests at the available request section.
  • Selling our invites is NOT allowed!
  • Do not upload our torrents to other trackers! (See the FAQ for details.)
  • No spamming.
  • Witty comments are generally tolerated but please beware that disruptive activities in the forums or chat rooms may well lead to a permanent ban.

    Dupe accounts - Top

    A dupe account is considered as

  • 1. When a account holder creates more then one account.
    • This not tolerated and you will be cought. Anyone found with more then one account will have both accounts banned!

  • Has a friend over and has them create one.
    • In this case you need to send a message to the staff. So the accounts can be noted and monitored. They will also need to login from there home within 48 hours. If this doesn't happen the account will be disabled and the first account will receive a warning.

  • Have other house hold members create accounts.
    • This is not tolerated. And both accounts will be disabled. If there is others that wish to be part of this tracker from your home. You will have to share the one account.

  • A user makes more then one account because they lost there login ect..
    • They need to contact staff and notify them of the dupe account.

  • Rule of thumb 1 account 1 ip.
    • What this means is there can only be 1 account on any one ip. No exceptions!

  • Every torrent downloaded should be seeded back 1:1 or 72 hours.
  • Hit and run on torrents will not be tolerated, warnings will be issued for this automaticaly by the system. To have the warning removed. Reseed the torrent to the minimum of 1:1 or 72 hours. The warning is automaticaly removed.
  • Accounts with multiple hit and runs (4th H&R) will have their download privelage removed. Again to resolve this reseed those torrents with a H&R warning.
  • An account with hit and runs on other trackers have there download privileges removed or massive wait times imposed. Here you will not as long as you seed what you download. To your highest possible ratio or as close to 1:1 or 72 hours as is possible.

    H&R PM Request ? What does it mean ?

  • Stop Torrent (Ratio Less Then 1:1 or less than 72 hours)
  • After a maximum of 1 hour after stopping the torrent you will receive a PM asking you to reseed.
  • THIS IS NOT A WARNING !!!!



    • What to do now you had a PM Request ?

  • In the PM there will be some information as to your upload/download and how many downloaders still active on that torrent.
  • If there are no active downloaders You still need to seed it to at least the minimum of 72 hours.
  • If you do not the system will automatically issue a warning to your account.



    • You re-seed the torrent (1:1 ratio reached)

  • If you re-seed the torrent as requested to a 1:1 ratio no warning will be given



    • You re-seed the torrent (1:1 ratio NOT reached)

  • If you re-seed as requested but then find that there are no active downloaders left.
  • As long as you seed for the minimum of 72 hours. No matter what the ratio NO WARNING WILL BE GIVEN



    • You FAIL to re-seed when requested

  • If you fail to reseed the torrent when asked you are what is called a Hit and Runner (Leecher)
  • One H&R warning will be put onto you account
  • To remove this warning it's a simple matter of reseeding the torrent even after the warning is given IT WILL THEN BE REMOVED



    • You H&R more then once ?

  • 1 unresolved H&R warning.
    12 hour wait times on downloads.
    7 day warning

  • 2 unresolved H&R warnings.
    24 hour wait times on downloads.
    14 day warning

  • 3 unresolved H&R warnings.
    Download privileges revoked for 14 days
    14 day warning

  • If you have 4 unresolved H&R's your account will be disabled by the system. And will be deleted after 6 months by the system. As long as you don't try and come back. At this time you can become a member again.


    • Asking staff to remove the warnings will not work Since this is your responsibility to seed back what you take.
    Telling us that your system has a problem will not help !! It's your system your own issue to sort NOT THAT OF STAFF !!!
    Repeated Requests of this nature will insure your account is banned for a longer time.

  • The allowed formats are .gif, .jpg and .png. Be considerate.
  • Resize your images to a width of 150 px and a size of no more than 150 KB. (Browsers will rescale them anyway: smaller images will be expanded and will not look good; larger images will just waste bandwidth and CPU cycles.)
  • For now this is just a guideline but it will be automatically enforced in the near future.
  • Do not use potentially offensive material involving porn, religious material, animal / human cruelty or ideologically charged images. Mods have wide discretion on what is acceptable. If in doubt PM one.

  • It is essential to be responsible with your bandwidth.If you have an average upload speed of 256kb/s(30kB/s),you are best to only upload one file at a time,regardless of size,until it has at least a couple of seeds.
  • It is not a requirement to upload files here,but if you do,we ask you not to use your bandwidth elsewhere when uploading a torrent,this is to ensure your full upload speed can be committed to the torrent you have uploaded.
  • Bear in mind that a large file,such as a dvd/r can take up to 48hrs to seed propperly,this is a big commitment,and you must be willing to accept this if you upload.
  • Any torrent without a seed,and on tracker longer than an hour will be deleted by staff,3 unseeded torrents and your right to upload will be removed.
  • Any torrents found by staff with ridiculous upload speed will also be deleted,and again,your right to upload removed.
  • All uploads must include a detailed description. Please refer to topic: Poor descriptions No nasty files! All files must be in a legitiment format so they are functional.
  • Pre-release stuff should be labeled with an *ALPHA* or *BETA* tag.
  • Make sure not to include any serial numbers, CD keys or similar in the description (you do not need to edit the NFO!).
  • Make sure your torrents are well-seeded for at least 24 hours after you have uploaded to new seeds.
  • Do not include the release date in the torrent name.
  • Make sure you torrent goes in the right group,if you dont know what a scene release is,then it goes in the user section
